About The Caffeinated Engineer

I’m Alessandro, a software engineer. I work mostly on machine learning, computer vision, edge systems, and distributed software.

I started this newsletter because I missed writing. Work moves quickly, and a lot of useful thinking disappears into commits, conversations, or notes that nobody opens again. Writing is how I slow down enough to understand what happened.

Most pieces start with something concrete: a paper I’m trying to understand, a system that behaved differently than expected, an architecture decision, a useful tool, or a mistake that took longer than it should have.

I’ll explain what I learned, include enough detail to make it useful, and be honest about what I still don’t know. Some posts will be technical and long. Others will be short notes from work in progress.

There’s no fixed publishing schedule. I’ll send something when I have something worth sharing.

If a note helps with a problem you’re working on, or gives us something interesting to discuss, that’s enough.

Thanks for reading.
